Hail suppression
Sector for hail suppression of the Hydrometeorological Service has been performing hail suppression activities since 1967.
The key task of this Sector is operational enforcement of hail suppression, permanent radar observing of clouds on the territory of the Republic of Serbia and development of methodology of all forms of weather modification.

Operational department consists of the Units for flight control, Operational unit in Belgrade and the network of 13 Radar Centers from which clouds observation is regularly performed during the whole year, while the hail suppression is performed from 15th of April until 15th of October.
This Department performs analysis, control and archiving all the data collected in the hail suppression system, prepares and distributes reports to the users on performed suppression activities on hail-threatening clouds as well as the development of methodology of artificial impact on the weather, based on the most advanced scientific knowledge in this area.
